The flag of Gagauzia has served as the republic's flag since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Gagauzian law permits the use a simplified version of the flag for non-governmental (e.g., personal and commercial) usage, without stars or white stripe. For government usage, only the state flag is valid.
