First Bank & Trust (FB&T) is an independent[1] and locally managed community and commercial bank headquartered in Evanston, Illinois and wholly owned by its holding company, First Evanston Bancorp, Inc.[2] Founded in 1995 by Robert Yohanan, Howard Kain and James Lytle,[3] the bank serves owner-operated businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals in and around the Chicago area. It is an Illinois chartered bank and its primary regulators are the Federal Reserve and the State of Illinois. FB&T is a Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) member and an Equal Housing Lender. In 2014, FB&T received an "Outstanding" rating from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for its performance under the Community Reinvestment Act.[4]
