Enduring Quests and Daring Visions
Enduring Quests and Daring Visions is a vision for astrophysics programs released in late 2013.[1] It lays out plans over 30 years as long-term goals and missions.[1] Goals include mapping the Cosmic Microwave Background and finding Earth like exoplanets.[2] To go deeper into space-time studying the Large Scale Structure of the Universe, extreme physics, and looking back farther in time.[2]
Examples of discussed missions include:[3]
- JEM-EUSO
- JWST (James Webb Space Telescope)
- WFIRST-ALPHA
- Euclid
- TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite)
- Gaia
- NICER (Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer)
- Astro-H (Hitomi)
- Gravitational Wave Surveyor/Mapper
- CMB Polarization Surveyor
- LUVOIR Surveyor (Large UV Optical Infrared Surveyor)
- X-Ray Surveyor
- Cosmic Dawn
- ExoEarth Mapper
- Black Hole Mapper
