Emagine Entertainment Inc. is an American movie theater chain in several cities throughout Michigan. They are the first theatre chain in the world to convert to 100% digital projection. Emagine has been named "Best Movie Theatres" for several years by the Detroit News, the Detroit Free Press, and WDIV. Majority of the theatres are located in the entertainment district of the cities they are built in.

History

The company began in 1997, and it was first known as Cinema Hollywood, where they branched off to be known as Emagine Entertainment. They are well known in Michigan as the first movie theatre to open that offered all stadium seating. Emagine offers "luxury" seating in all of their theatres, as well as reserved seats, and alcoholic beverages for adults.

Cinema Hollywood is the first movie theatre by the young movie theater chain, offering the first all stadium seating in Birch Run, MI.[1]

Emagine Novi 18

Emagine Novi 18 is the sister theatre of Cinema Hollywood located in Novi, MI. The Emagine Novi 18 is the first all digital theatre in the world. It is the first theatre in the world to feature two D-BOX motion feedback Auditoriums.[2] The Novi theatre is also home to 5th Avenue.[3]

Emagine Canton 18 is located in Canton, MI opened late in 2004. It is an 18-screen Megaplex with plush seats, luxury seats, D-BOX motion feedback Auditoriums and Emagine Entertainment Experience! Auditorium (E3) Emagine’s premium large-format auditoriums.[4]

Emagine Woodhaven is located in Woodhaven, MI, and is one of the most recent additions to the chain followed behind Rochester Hills.[5]

Emagine Royal Oak 10 is located in Royal Oak, MI, This 10 screen megaplex also hosts Star Lanes, a bowling alley and a full service bar.[7]

Clio Square Cinema

The oldest and smallest theatre in the chain is the Clio (Michigan) Square Cinema, which was originally opened in 1974. During the 1980s through the 21st century, the Clio Square was part of the Neighborhood Cinema Group until closing in 2011. Later that year, Emagine Entertainment purchased and remodeled the Clio Square; the four-screen theater reopened in December of that year.[8]

Emagine Macomb

Emagine Macomb, located in Macomb Township, Michigan, opened in 2014. The theater is housed in a former Kroger, and took three-and-a-half months to be converted from a grocery store to a movie theater with nine screens. AMENITIES
