Eligio Ancona del Castillo
Eligio Ancona del Castillo (born November 30, 1835 in Mérida, Yucatán – died April 3, 1893 in Mexico City) was a Mexican lawyer and liberal. He served as governor of the state of Yucatán from 1868 to 1875. He was also an author and novelist. He published a notable compendium of the history of Yucatán in 1889.[1] His remains were interred at the Panteón de Dolores in Mexico City, in the Rotunda of Illustrious Persons on April 13, 1903.
He was elected a member of the American Antiquarian Society in 1880.[2]
