Duffy Fairgrounds

Coordinates: 43°59′13″N 75°55′46″W / 43.986836°N 75.929561°W / 43.986836; -75.929561 The Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds[1] is a multi-purpose facility in Watertown, New York.

Baseball

A baseball park on the grounds serves as home to the Watertown Bucks and Road City Explorers of the North Country Baseball League. The ballpark has a capacity of 2,500 people and opened in 1938. From 1983 until 1998 it was the home of the Watertown Pirates and later the Watertown Indians of the professional New York–Penn League.[2] In 1999, the New York Penn-League franchise was moved to Staten Island.[3]

Football

The Watertown Red & Black play their home games at the fairgrounds.

Ice hockey

The Watertown Municipal Arena is located on the fairgrounds. In 2012, the 1000 Island Privateers (now the Watertown Wolves) of the Federal Hockey League moved from Alexandria Bay to Watertown; the Privateers/Wolves have played in the arena each winter since.

Other events

As its name implies, the area is home to the Jefferson County Fair in late July of each year.[4]
