Bruno Mars concert chronology

The Doo-Wops & Hooligans Tour was the first concert tour by American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars in support of his debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The tour began November 16, 2010 in San Francisco, California, and ran through the end of the year in Hawaii. Atlanta rapper Donnis served as the opening act on all dates in the continental US, with the exception of the San Diego date, and performed songs from his EP Fashionably Late.[1] A second leg is set to follow through Europe, a third for Asia, and a fourth in Australia. Tour dates are below.[2][3][4] A second tour, a joint co-headlining effort with American singer Janelle Monáe entitled Hooligans in Wondaland, was announced in February 2011 and visited North America in May and June 2011.[5][6]

Opening acts

Background

In 2011, Mars turned down multiple offers to open for famous pop artists on arena tours, deciding to tour alongside Janelle Monáe. The move may have limited his earnings in the short term, but the gold was to build a fan base by "underplaying"—deliberately performing gigs at smaller, more intimate venues. This move helped him to launch The Moonshine Jungle Tour, a lucrative affair that has taken him to arenas around the world as a solo act.[8]

Matt Galle from Paradigm was in charge of the tour dates, countries and the schedule of theaters and ballrooms for the performances.[9] The tour included many comedic "set pieces" rehearsed.[10]
