Dominique Marie Jean Rey (born 21 September 1952) is the current bishop of Fréjus-Toulon in southern France and a leading figure in the French episcopate. Having served as curé of Ste. Trinité church in Paris, he was appointed in May 2000 and consecrated bishop in September 2000. Dominique Rey was appointed to the synod on evangelisation in 2012. He has stressed an incompatibility between being a Catholic and a Free Mason (the connotations of which in France differ significantly from those mainly operating in the English-speaking world). In August 2015, he defended the decision of the diocese in its annual OSP (observatoire socio-politique) to invite a prominent National Front member of the French parliament, breaking with the consistent policy of the French episcopate not to include speakers from this party.
