Dodgen Middle School is a Georgia Schools of Excellence[3] middle school located in East Cobb, Georgia as part of the Cobb County School District. Its current principal is Dr. Loralee Hill.[2]
As of the 2013-2014 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,163 students and 65 teachers, for a student-teacher ratio of 17.89.[1]
Awards and achievements
In 2009, Dodgen Middle School was awarded the Georgia Schools of Excellence award by the Georgia Department of Education.[1]
In the 2011-2012 school year, Dodgen Middle School was named as a participating school in The Clean Air Campaign.[4]
In the 2014-2015 school year, the Dodgen Middle School Science Olympiad team won first place in the state championship, after finishing runners-up in the state championship for the past two years. The team was invited to the Science Olympiad national championship all 3 years because of its performances at the state championships.[5]
