Dionne Monsanto as is a Filipina actress best known for her role in Tubig at Langis as Lucy Villadolid.[1] Monsanto portrayed secondary antagonist in the series. This television series is a big break for Monsanto, after portraying several supporting and extended roles in television series.

Monsanto is known by the alias as the Bida sa Sampalan. She got this name because of her extreme popularity in the daytime television series, Tubig at Langis. Fans created fake memes and accounts of her character.

For Dionne's role in Tubig at Langis she had to cut her hair to a boy-style hair to create a new look unseen from her before.

Career

2007-2015; minor and extended roles

Monsanto's home network is ABS-CBN.

Her first television appearance was in Pinoy Big Brother: Season 2 as a contestant, in 2007.[2] Monsanto entered on Day 12 of the series, and was evicted on Day 77. [3]

In the later part of 2007, Monsanto portrayed an antagonist role in Super Inggo 1.5: Ang Bagong Bangis, the series starring former child actor Makisig Morales.[4] She portrayed the role of Salonna.

Monsanto's next television appearance was in 2008, when she starred in the TV series, Lobo. In this TV series, Dionne portrayed an extended or a minor role. Not really an important part in the show.

In 2009 till 2010, she became known for her role in the TV show, starring the newlyweds, Mara Clara actress Ms. Judy Ann Santos and actor Ryan Agoncillo, in George and Cecil.[5] She portrayed Grace Palacios, a successful business tycoon.

Later in 2009, Monsanto portrayed an extended role in KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual's TV show, Lovers in Paris as Jennifer "Jenny". Vivian's (KC Concepcion) close and best friend.

After almost 6 years of not appearing on television, Monsanto's comeback project was when she starred in the daytime television series, FlordeLiza in 2015. She portrayed the role of Lynette, Manny's loving wife who is supportive to his every decision.

In the latter part 2015, Monsanto guested on Pasión de amor as KC. Monsanto also had a lead role in the feature film Swap as the mother of a kidnapped baby.[2]

2016-present; breakthrough roles

Monsanto had a big break while she starred in the daytime TV series Tubig at Langis as Lucy Villadolid.[1] She portrays main antagonist of the series after Vivian Velez's resignation. She co-stars with Cristine Reyes, Zanjoe Marudo, Victor Silayan, Ingrid dela Paz, and Isabelle Daza.
