Veronica perfoliata known as Digger's Speedwell is a small plant found in high altitude areas in south-eastern Australia. Attractive purple flowers form in summer.

This species first appeared in the scientific literature in 1810, in the Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae, authored by the prolific Scottish botanist, Robert Brown.[1]
