Death of Michael Tyree

Michael Tyree (born 1984) was an inmate at Santa Clara County Main Jail. He was found dead there on August 27, 2015.

Death

On August 3, 2015, Tyree was arrested for violating probation on a minor drug charge. He was housed on the 6th floor of the jail in the "B" pod. He was found dead just outside of his cell on August 27, 2015. Three jail guards were arrested for allegedly beating him to death. They have pled not guilty to charges of murder.[1][2][3]

A panel led by Judge LaDoris Cordell is reviewing the case.
