David Palmer (composer)

David Palmer is a composer. He lives near Croydon, in the county of Surrey, United Kingdom. He worked as a teacher, particularly at Thomas More High School in Purley, now in the London Borough of Croydon, where he was head of music for 30 years.

Major works

His major works include two oratorios, both of which have been performed at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, featuring soloists and choirs drawn from local church schools:

• Holy Boy, based on the biblical story of Christmas as found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, with references to the Old Testament.
• Son of Man, originally called Holy Man, a musical telling the Easter story.
