Conceição da Barra de Minas
Conceição da Barra de Minas is a Brazilian municipality located in the state of Minas Gerais. The city belongs to the mesoregion of Campo das Vertentes and to the microregion of Sao Joao del Rei.
The most concrete history of the city is traced to the 18th century, when the small Arraial of Our Lady of the Conceição of the Bar was only one point of ticket of travellers come of the region of São Paulo in direction Is Sao Joao del Rei and also to other parts. In 1825, the arraial was raised to the clientele condition and in 1943, it had its name modified for Cassiterita (on name the extration of cassiterita, very common in that region). In 1962, the clientele was raised to the category of city.
