Combs High School is a high school in San Tan Valley, Arizona. It is the only high school in the J.O. Combs Unified School District, which also includes five elementary schools and one middle school. It opened in 2008, ahead of the initial scheduled plan that called for an August 2009 opening.
The J.O. Combs district community had to approve a unification vote in November 2006 for the district to be able to teach high school students.[1]
Marching Band
Combs High School Marching Coyote Regiment placed 2012 in the ABODA State Championships.
Fun Facts
Combs High School has class A sports facilities. It is 235,000 square feet. The media center (Library) holds over 21,000 books and 70 computers. A competition gym ('Big Gym') with 900-seat capacity, Television Studio (300 bldg.) and ' Smart Boards' in every classroom.
Buildings
Combs High School has 6 different buildings ranging from 100-600; The 100 building is the administration building this is where the office clerks, principal, and nurses are. The 200 building covers the library media center, 1 classroom and 1 computer lab and is also known as the multi-purpose room. The 300 building covers the bookstore, classrooms, Special ED Classes, a few electives, and science rooms, and 2 computer labs and also a TV Studio. The 400 building covers all general classrooms from English, Math, Social Studies, a few electives. The 500 building used to cover all general classrooms, but it stop offering classes in that building due to a budget cut from the district. The 600 building covers the Coyote Store called 'The Den' which offers T-shirts, lanyards, and school gear, it also covers the cafeteria, it also has two gyms a 'small' gym with one bleacher, and the 'big' gym with two beseechers. The 600 building also includes the P.E. locker room for boys and girls, it also offers the weight room, drama/acting class, band, choir, and other electives as well.
Elevators
Every building (300,400 and 500) expect the 100, 200, and 600 buildings do not have an elevator. These elevators are just to be used by staff members and or disabled students. Passes for these elevators can be given to students who are permanently disabled or injured students. Passes will be given to students by administration upon approval.
