Christian Alberto Cueva Bravo (born 23 November 1991) is a Peruvian professional footballer who plays for Brazilian club São Paulo FC as an attacking midfielder.

He was a member of the Peru national football team that finished in third place at the 2015 Copa América.

Club career

Cueva spent his early career in his native Peru with Universidad San Martín and Universidad César Vallejo.[2][1] In January 2013 he was close to signing for Brazilian club Ponte Preta,[3] but later that month he moved to Chilean club Unión Española.[4]

He signed on loan for Spanish club Rayo Vallecano in August 2013.[5]

Cueva returned to Peru with Alianza Lima in 2014.[1] In July 2015, he signed for Mexican club Toluca.[6]

On 2 June 2016, Cueva signed a four-year contract with Brazilian side São Paulo FC. Because of his calling up for Peruvian team for Copa América Centenario, Cueva joined his new side after the international competition.[7]

International career

He made his international debut for Peru in 2011.[2] He was included in Peru's squad for the 2015 Copa América, scoring the team's opening goal of the tournament in a 2–1 loss to Brazil.[8]

Style of play

Whilst for Peru, Cueva plays through center of the field, for clubs, as Toluca, he plays more at flanks, mainly left one. He works well at short spaces and he has a good dribble.[9]
