Chris Plante is a syndicated radio host, based out of WMAL Radio in Washington DC. He is also a frequent guest on both Fox News Channel and Fox Business.

Career

CNN

Chris worked at CNN for 17 years, mostly covering the pentagon and military community.[1] At various times, he was a CNN Pentagon Correspondent, Senior Producer for National Security Affairs, Military Affairs Producer and an assignment editor. Chris traveled to locales like Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Africa and the remote corners of the former Soviet Union covering stories for CNN.

Radio

After leaving CNN, Chris got a job doing a weekend radio show at WMAL Radio, sometimes doing a joint show with liberal host Jerry Klein.

In 2005 he moved to weeknights, and in 2008 he moved to the mid-day time slot. In 2009 he was briefly let go,[2] but overwhelming demand from fans saw his return in October 2009[3]

Chris has filled in for national hosts like Mark Levin, Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh.

In 2016 it was announced he would be nationally syndicated by Westwood One[4]

Awards

Chris received the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors’ Association (RTNDA) for his reporting from the Pentagon during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

In 2015 Chris won a Reid Irvine award for Excellence in Journalism[5]
