The Chinese International School Manila (CISM) (Chinese: 中华国际学校; pinyin: Zhōnghuā guójì xuéxiào) is a private, non-partisan, co-instructive K-12 international school located in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. English is the medium of direction with Mandarin classes taught day by day. The school uses U.S. Common Core State Standards.
CISM has been officially authorized since 2011 as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.[1] In 2014, CISM was granted membership to the Council of International Schools (CIS) which sets standards for international education.
Curriculum Overview
Center subjects are science, dialect expressions, science, math, social studies, and Chinese; other courses include music, workmanship, physical instruction, computerized education, and budgetary writing proficiency.
Mandarin Language program
The Mandarin Language program focuses on listening, speaking, singing, rhyming and character sighting with some initial work on writing. Emphasis is placed on tone differentiation and pronunciation. Mandarin Chinese is taught by a specialist teacher.
Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten
The Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten project includes Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Dialect reading proficiency and fundamental learning abilities are underlined.
The Mandarin Language system concentrates on tuning in; talking, singing, rhyming and character locating with some beginning take a shot at composing. Accentuation is set on tone separation and articulation.
Elementary School Through High School
The educational module in Elementary School has homerooms. Homerooms are used for the four center modules: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Mandarin, the fifth center module, is taught in the Chinese Language Lab. Music, Art, Computer Studies, and Physical Education is taught by pro instructors.
In the high school levels, during evaluations 11 and 12, understudies may pick to select in the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP).
