The Chief Mountain Border Crossing connects the town of Babb, Montana with Pincher Creek, Alberta on the Canada–US border. The crossing was established when the Chief Mountain International Highway was completed in 1936. The Chief Mountain Border Station and Quarters was constructed in 1939, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 20, 2008.[1] This crossing is one of only two on the US-Canada border that are closed in winter (Poker Creek - Little Gold Creek Border Crossing is the other). This crossing is the only road border crossing within the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.
