Chi Capricorni (χ Cap, χ Capricorni) is a star in the constellation Capricornus. χ Capricorni is a white A-type main sequence dwarf with an apparent magnitude of +5.30. It is approximately 191 light years from Earth.
Chinese Name
In Chinese, 十二國 (Shíer Guó), meaning Twelve States, refers to an asterism which is represent twelve ancient states in the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, consisting of χ Capricorni, φ Capricorni, ι Capricorni, 38 Capricorni, 35 Capricorni, 36 Capricorni, θ Capricorni, 30 Capricorni, 33 Capricorni, ζ Capricorni, 19 Capricorni, 26 Capricorni, 27 Capricorni, 20 Capricorni, η Capricorni and 21 Capricorni.[1] Consequently, χ Capricorni itself is represent the state Qi (齊),[2] together with 112 Herculis in Left Wall of Heavenly Market Enclosure (asterism).[3]
R.H.Allen had opinion that χ Capricorni, together with φ Capricorni, were represent the state Wei (魏).[4]
