Charles Potter Jr. (born in Wilmington, Delaware) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives since January 8, 2013 representing District 1.[1]
Education
Potter attended Delaware Technical Community College and graduated from Wilmington College[2] (now Wilmington University).
Elections
- 2012 When Democratic Representative Dennis P. Williams ran for mayor of Wilmington and left the District 1 seat open, Potter won the three-way September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary with 2,546 votes (63.9%),[3] and was unopposed for the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 9,321 votes.[4]
- 2006 Potter challenged incumbent Democratic Senator Harris B. McDowell III for the District 1 senate seat in the four-way September 12, 2006 Democratic Primary, but lost, taking second;[5] McDowell has held the seat since 1976.
