Chakradhari (English: A Person Holding a Wheel - Lord Krishna) is a 1977 Telugu, devotional, biographical film, based on the life of Gora Kumbhar,[2] produced by N. R. Anuradha Devi on Lakshmi Films Combines banner[3] and directed by V. Madhusudhan Rao.[4] The film stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Vanisri in the lead roles.[5] Soundtrack was composed by G. K. Venkatesh.[6][7]
Plot
The film is based on the life of Gora Kumbhar, a potter who turned into a saint who lived in the 13th and 14th century in Teredoki. Gora (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) a pot seller, living a happy life with his Lakshmi (Vanisri) and have a kid. He spends most of his time singing about Lord Panduranga (Ramakrishna). Once forgets everything when he is praying the lord and lost his child while curing the clay by his legs for making pots, because he did not notice his child fumbling under his feet as he immersed himself in chanting the name of God, which irks his wife a lot and in that anger takes an oath on god that he should not touch her. From that day Gora makes his work on his own, Lakshmi not able to see his trouble, So she makes remarriage to him with her sister Manju (Jayaprada). Gora makes a promise he will never touch her also and in case he touches her he will cut his hands. And one day he touches her and cuts his hands and Lord Panduranga comes in form of a potter Ranganna starts serving him. Rest of the story is how lord completes his test on Gora.
