The year 2009 was a particularly successful one for the club, when it won an unprecedented nine cups. During this time the club also redeveloped its club house, with the creation of new larger changing rooms, improved shower facilities, gym area and also the club's floodlight system was vastly improved. Cashel R.F.C have 3 regulation pitches along with a training pitch. Cashel have a strong rugby tradition with many of its young players developing on its youth teams before progressing to a higher level. However, in recent years the trend of Cashel players moving to higher division clubs has changed, with large fundraising and sponsorship large sums of money have been invested in all teams and this has been repaid with huge progress in the past 5 years, many players have returned from various clubs throughout the AIL leagues to help Cashel progress further, also players from the nearby Rockwell College have also opted to come play with Cashel in large numbers whereas in the past they were lost as Cashel were not a senior club. This has also been a big factor in the club's development and has improved the standard of the whole club. As of the 2014/2015 season Cashel play in the Ulster Bank All-Ireland League Division 2A.[2]
