Slingshot Dakota is an American band from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Currently a keyboard-and-drums duo with interlacing male and female vocals, the group's music has drawn comparisons to Mates of State, Matt and Kim, Rainer Maria, and 1997.
History
Slingshot Dakota formed in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania as a three-piece, issuing their debut, Keener Sighs, in 2004; at the time the group was composed of Comando (who is originally from Long Island) along with Pat Schramm and Jeff Cunningham, both members of the band Latterman. By 2006 the group had become a duo of Comando and Patterson, and the band released its sophomore effort, Their Dreams Are Dead, but Ours Is the Golden Ghost!, in 2007.[1] The group's third full-length did not arrive until 2012, after the group signed with Topshelf Records and issued Dark Hearts in November of that year.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
