CanDeal is an electronic trading marketplace for Canadian dollar product. CanDeal is Canadian owned and governed and has offices in Toronto, Montreal and St. Louis.

History

Founded in 2001, CanDeal has come to be the leading online marketplace for Canadian debt trading. Over 95% of Dealer to Client electronic trading of Canadian product is done on CanDeal.

In 2016, CanDeal introduced CanDeal Solutions, a subsidiary focusing on technology solutions (Cybersecurity intelligence, Market Data and Research and Analytics) for CanDeal's institutional clients.

CanDeal Markets is the entity now operating the electronic trading marketplace, CanDeal.

Ownership and Governance

CanDeal is owned by Canada's 6 largest banks (Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto-Dominion Bank, Scotiabank, Bank of Montreal, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and National Bank of Canada), as well as the TMX Group.

CanDeal operates as an alternative trading system in Canada and is regulated by the Canadian Securities Administrators under National Instrument 21-101. CanDeal is also regulated by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada. CanDeal is a member of the Investment Industry Association of Canada and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund. CanDeal offers services to participants outside of Canada in accordance with the SEC and FINRA, through its partnership with Tradeweb.
