Buchach townhall
The old city hall of Buchach, a joint work of architect Bernard Meretyn and sculptor Jan Jerzy Pinzel.
Buchach townhall, also known as the Buchach City Hall, is a unique architectural monument of the mid-18th century in Buchach, Ternopil region, Ukraine. Built during Polish rule in 1751, it is probably the best example of Rococo architecture of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The architects and sculptors included Bernard Meretyn and Johann Georg Pinsel, whose masterpieces were comparable to those of Michelangelo. The founder of the townhall was Mikołaj Bazyli Potocki — Governor of Kaniv, Korsun' and Bohuslav, benefactor of the Buchach's churches, Basilian monastery and Pochayiv Lavra.
