British Wildlife is a bimonthly British wildlife magazine. It is distributed by subscription.[1]
History and profile
British Wildlife has been published since 1989. The magazine was first published in October 1989.[1] The founder is Andrew Branson.[1] The magazine was subtitled “the magazine for the modern naturalist”.[1] Individual issues are B5 in size. The first three volumes had colour covers, but from volume 4 onwards, the design changed to a white background with dark blue text for the title, and a photograph or painting on the front cover. A regular feature is "Wildlife reports", which covers recent records and findings, by taxonomic group. Another regular feature is "Conservation News", which is compiled by Sue Everett.
In 2013, British Wildlife Publishing, the publisher of the magazine, was acquired by Osprey Publishing.[2] The same year the magazine had nine thousand subscribers.[1] In 2014, Osprey was acquired by Bloomsbury Publishing.[3]
Since 2016, British Wildlife magazine has been published by NHBS Ltd.[4]
