Briarfield Academy
Briarfield Academy is a non-sectarian, private school admitting pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade students. It is located on Riddle Lane in Lake Providence in East Carroll Parish in northeastern Louisiana. The school has more than 250 students.

- Fuaed Abdo Ahmed, a 20-year-old Arab of Yemeni descent who in 2013 killed two hostages at the Tensas State Bank branch in St. Joseph, Louisiana, played football at Briarfield Academy, rushing for over 2,000 yards his senior year in 2010. He graduated in 2011. He then went to LSU. He developed schizophrenia due to alleged synthetic marijuana use and. He had cut ties his Muslim faith and the killings were found in a 9 month Louisiana State Police investigation not to be related to radical Islamic terrorism. [1]
