Brachystemma calycinum is an indigenous plant of southwestern China and has shown promise as a natural adjunct anti-inflammatory agent for treatment of osteoarthritis in humans and dogs.[1] This plant reported has active ingredients which result in decreased levels of protease activated receptor 2 (PAR 2), inducible nitric oxide synthase, and matrix metalloprotease 13.[2]
