Border Communities Against Brexit is an organization which seeks to protect people who live close to the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from what they believe are the harms of Brexit.[1] The organization is active in both Northern Ireland and the Republic.
Protests
On 8 October 2016 six protests took place along the border. Ome protest took place at an old customs office in Carrickcarnon, Dundalk. About 150 protesters, led by Fr Joe McVeigh gathered at the border between Belcoo in Co Fermanagh and Blacklion in Co Cavan.[2] There was also protests at Moybridge between Tyrone and Monaghan, Aghalane between Fermanagh and Cavan and Lifford Bridge between Tyrone and Donegal.[3]
