Kari Kimmel
Kari Meredyth Kimmel is an American singer/songwriter whose style is generally classified as pop with rock, country and R&B influences. Many of her songs have been used in movies and TV shows. Her song "Let's Light It Up" was used by WWE professional wrestler AJ Lee as entrance music.
Biography
A native of Boca Raton, Florida, Kimmel first sang in public at the age of 2, and wrote her first song at age 13. She later moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the film and television industry.
Kimmel’s songs and/or voice have been used in more than 150 movies and TV shows, including Shall We Dance?, The Duff, The Hills, White Chicks, Greek, The Gilmore Girls, 10 Things I Hate About You, WALL-E, Nights in Rodanthe, The Young and the Restless, Ella Enchanted, Grey's Anatomy, Dreamgirls, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Walking Dead, Private Practice, Life Unexpected, Burn Notice, Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Game, and The Fosters. The song "Remember" was featured in Season 4 Episode 19 "Pictures of You" in the TV series The Vampire Diaries, the TV series Pretty Little Liars Season 1 Episode 2 "The Jenna Thing", and in the movie Carnal Innocence, a screen adaptation of a Nora Roberts novel.
Kimmel was once listed among the top 50 artists on VH1.com, has performed live on the Adam Carolla Show, the Danny Bonaduce Show, the Conway & Whitman Show, NBC Los Angeles and FOX Primeticket and has performed at Los Angeles Dodgers games, Los Angeles Lakers games, a benefit hosted by Prince Edward of Wales and the Greek Theater, where she closed the show for the 2010 AIDS/ HIV walk in Los Angeles.
Kimmel sang the theme song and performed the music video for the movie Ella Enchanted, seen on Radio Disney and the Ella Enchanted DVD. Her music video Low was used as the promo for the TV show Private Practice, and her music video Trouble has been featured on the Oxygen channel and NBC Los Angeles.
In 2011, Kimmel recorded the title track to the remake of the movie Footloose, with country artist Blake Shelton. The single "Let's Light It Up" was released on October 26 and is used by professional wrestler AJ Lee as her entrance music.[1] Her songs have also been recorded by other top artists including Backstreet Boys, Ke$ha, Joe Jonas, Demi Lovato and Gloria Gaynor.
Kimmel has released five solo albums: A Life in the Day, Out of Focus, From the Vault, Go, and Black. She currently lives in Los Angeles.
