Overview
Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is a co-educational institute which was established in 1967. It is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. The college is named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, an Indian freedom fighter who believed strongly in social justice.
The college was ranked at number 17 for the best Commerce colleges in India in 2012 as per India Today Survey group and at number 9 in Delhi's best commerce colleges in 2015. University Express ranked it at number 5 among all the Delhi university colleges, giving its faculty a full 10/10 score.[1] The college offers both Graduate Degrees and Postgraduate Degrees. At the undergraduate level it offers 3 Year degrees in Commerce, English, Economics, Hindi, History, Geography, Political Science and Mathematics. At the postgraduate level it offers an M.Com degree. Dr. PK Khurana is the Principal/OSD of the college and Mr. Arun Kumar Attree is the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the college under RTI Act 2005. The college was rocked by fake admissions scam in 2014 when the Chief coordinator of the Admissions, Arun Kumar Attree caught the impersonation and fake certificate cases and exposed the fake admission racket existing in the college. The college is appreciated for being the first college in University to investigate the matter and taking immediate action by cancelling admission of 36 students of year 2013-14 and 2012-13. Consequently the college made the admission procedure very stringent since 2014-15.

Sports
The college has arrangements for various sports and games like Cricket, Hockey, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Kho - Kho, Athletics, Gymnastics, Carrom and Chess. The Cricket Ground is among the best in the whole of South Delhi.Basket Ball and Lawn Tennis Synthetic Courts have been newly constructed.
Library and Laboratories
The college has a computerized library, which contains a huge collection of books from all over the world. The College has multiple computer labs, geography lab, maths lab. It is also proposed to have ICT enabled class rooms.
Life At SBSC
Learning methods are supported by lectures, seminars, workshops and presentations and conferences. All this is supported by project work, case studies, field work, educational tours and career oriented programmes.The college supports learning in a cohesive environment with special focus on overall development of the students.Regular hangout spots of the college include the canteen, the main staircase, front lawn,central lawn. Apart from these, select citywalk mall, garden of five senses, hauz khas village, greater kailash markets are popular among the students.
Placements
The students have been placed in companies like google, DE Shaw, PwC, India Bulls, RBS, KPMG, Grant Thornton, Ernst & Young, global shared services etc. Placement Cell organizes pre-placement presentations by recruiting organizations which is followed by the actual recruitment process.
