Bhadeshwar

Bhadeshwar is a village located in Golapganj Upazila of the Sylhet District, Sylhet Division, Bangladesh.[1]

Demographics

According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Bhadeshwar had 3,065 households and a population of 18,509. The literacy rate (age 7 and over) was 65.7%, compared to the national average of 51.8%.[2][3]

Economy

Pineapple is a major crop in the district.[4]

Education

There is one pass-level college in the village, Bhadeshwar Mohila College, founded in 1989. Salima Khanom Girls High School is the oldest secondary school in the village. It was built by Gous Ahmed (1915-1989) in 1938 (officially 1940). He named the school after his mother.
