Bethesda unit

A Bethesda unit (BU) is a measure of blood coagulation inhibitor activity. It is the amount of inhibitor that will inactivate half of a coagulant during the incubation period.[1] It is the standard measure used in the United States, and is so named because it was adopted as a standard at a conference in Bethesda, Maryland.[2]
