Banna Bannada Loka[1][2][3] (Glittering world)[4] is a 2011 Kannada romance film written and directed by Ram Prasad.[5] The film will star Ram Prasad and Shravani in the lead roles along with Rangayadu Ragu and Rekha Aunty. The story of the film revolves around [6] a youngster from a Manglaore-based Kannada family. The happy-go-lucky man's life undergoes a sudden turn. The decisions he takes after that is the rest of the story. The film is produced by Krishnappa and features background score and soundtrack composed by Thomas Rathnam [7] with cinematography handled by Chandra Sekar.[8] The film, which commenced production in 2009 and released on 2011.

Marketing

The first teaser was released on 24 June 2011, a day before the audio launch of the film and the teaser garnered 1,000,000 plus views within a few days on YouTube. It recorded the highest-ever hits for a Kannada movie. It has also to be noted that the teaser was trending on social networking sites like Twitter. While it became a buzz word in Bangalore on Twitter by 11:30 am, it took four more hours to become a hot keyword searched by people in India. The teaser of the song "Google Google" was released on YouTube on 22 June 2011 receiving very strong and positive response from viewers.

Thomas Rathnam composed the soundtrack, teaming up with Ram Prasad for the first time. The soundtrack album consists of seven tracks. The lyrics were written by Kavi Kempagiri, Suresh Keerthi, Ram Prasad and Ubasya.[14] Reports stating that S.P.Balasubrahmanyam sang one song, which is the greatest lifetime hit. "E Loka" a song about the pathetic life style of the cine field people. Ultimately a fast song "Kanasina Marata" sung by Gurukiran is the optimistic song for the youth, who wish to achieve some thing in their life.

Critical reception

The soundtrack album of Banna Bannada Loka, consisting of six songs and one theme music, was released on 22 June 2011 in Bangalore. The album received positive critical and public reviews. Sify movies, msn entertainment and ibn live gave the album a positive verdict stating that "Overall, it is a classy and refreshing album." Behindwoods gave the album a positive verdict with 3.5 out of 5 stars and mentioned "Overall it’s a good album with tracks that you can trust Thomas Rathnam for his music skills."
