BabyCenter is a parenting website providing information on conception, pregnancy, birth, and early childhood for parents and parents-to-be.[2][3] [4] The site has been online since November 1997.[5] Users of the website can sign up for free weekly email newsletters that guide them through pregnancy and their child's development.
History
BabyCenter was purchased from the now defunct eToys in a cash agreement valued at 10 million dollars in March 2001.[6][7]
BabyCenter L.L.C. is owned by Johnson & Johnson, the main sponsor on the site. BabyCenter has a policy of maintaining a clear separation between advertising content and medically approved health content.[8]

The company is based in San Francisco and has several companion websites around the world, including BabyCenter Arabia,[9] BabyCenter Brazil,[10] BabyCenter China,[11] BabyCenter India,[12] and others.[8]
Mobile applications
BabyCenter has two iPhone apps: My Pregnancy Today[13] and My Baby Today.[14]
Awards
BabyCenter was the winner of the "Best family and parenting site" category in the 2006 and 2011 Webby Awards, winner of the 2016 Peoples' Voice Webby, and the winner of the 'Health' category in the Fourth Annual GII Awards.
