BaDoinkVR

BaDoinkVR is a virtual reality porn production company founded in 2006.[1][2] The company is part of CM Productions (CMP Group), and sister site to BaDoink VIP.[3] BaDoinkVR is headquartered in Rochester, New York with satellite offices in Barcelona, Spain and Silicon Valley.[4][5] The company was the first to drive mass consumer trial by seeding the market with 20,000 free virtual reality cardboard goggles.[6] According to Piper Jaffray, adult entertainment will be the number three driver of all virtual reality content behind movies and games, and the porn VR business will grow into a $1 billion industry by 2020.[7]

History

Founded in 2006, CMP Group initially launched BaDoink as a premier online adult entertainment site with a proprietary technology platform enabling users to consume content on any device as well as wirelessly stream exclusive content from any device to any TV.[8] In 2015, the company expanded its platform and content production to focus on virtual reality with the launch of BaDoinkVR.[9][10]

The web site features 360 and 180-degree immersive videos, motion tracking and binaural audio. Videos on BaDoinkVR.com can be viewed with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard with an iOS or Android smartphone using BaDoink’s VR Player, a virtual reality app that is compatible with the devices listed.[11]

As of early 2016, BaDoinkVR is consistently listed as one of the top three leading companies in virtual reality porn.[12]

Teledildonics and haptic technology

In February 2016, BaDoinkVR announced a partnership with Amsterdam based Kiiroo, a manufacturer of teledildonics and haptic technology that allows partners to simulate sexual relations over a distance.[13][14][15] The two companies will also be producing virtual reality videos focused on sex education.[16]

Malware claims

In May 2015, BaDoink was notified that the brand and logo, disguised as the BaDoink Ultra App, were being used to spread the Reveton/IcePol ransomware. They identified the site that was distributing the ransomware, and proceeded to remedy the situation, alerting the site's hosting company, and submitting a DMCA takedown request. The company was also in contact with the FBI Cyber Division and sent a cease and desist to the owners of the domain names as well.[17]

BaDoink.com's desktop software application, The BaDoink Ultra App, has been cornerstone to the BaDoink brand and member experience for years. The company created mobile apps that are sold through the iTunes App Store and the GooglePlay Market; and they are marketed exclusively through the iTunes App Store and the GooglePlay Market.
