The first cycle of Asia's Next Top Model aired during the winter months of 2012 and 2013. The international destinations for this cycle were Batam, Indonesia and Hong Kong. This cycle's promotional song was Fashion Show by Cory Lee.
Among the prizes for the season were a modeling contract with modeling agency Storm Model Management, a 3-month all-expenses-paid working trip to London, a cover of Harper's Bazaar Singapore, a S$100,000 cash prize, a position as the face of Canon IXUS' 2013 campaign, and a Subaru XV.[1]
The winner of the competition was 26-year old Jessica Amornkuldilok, who represented Thailand.

The contestants were given their first challenge, in which they had to walk in a fashion show in front of a live audience wearing couture dresses. Trang was declared the winner of the challenge, winning a $5,000 shopping spree at Wisma Atria. For the week's photo shoot, they portrayed "quirky girls" while modelling clothes from Reckless Ericka.
Helena's photo was declared the best of the week. Kyla and Melissa were the bottom two, with Kyla being the first contestant eliminated from the competition.

The contestants modeled in VIP private fashion show for designer Thomas Wee at the L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at Resorts World Sentosa. Trang was the challenge winner, and her prizes were a demi-couture outfit from Wee and dinner at the restaurant with two other contestants of her choice (Aastha and Stephanie). The week's photo shoot took place at the former Tanjong Pagar railway station, with the contestants portraying "virtual princesses" and modeling designs from the fall/winter 2012 Prada collection in groups.
The group of Aastha, Bei Si, Sofia and Trang were declared the best-performing group at the photo shoot and their photograph was selected to be featured in Harper's Bazaar Singapore. Aastha was declared the best performer overall, with Jee and Stephanie being the bottom two. Neither of them were eliminated due to Monica's withdrawal from the competition due to a family emergency.

The contestants were taken to the Salon Le Point for makeovers. The photo shoot took place at Hong San See, and the contestants each portrayed one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, modeling designs by Tube Gallery.
Helena's photo was declared the best of the week. Aastha and Bei Si were the bottom two, with Bei Si being the second contestant eliminated from the competition.

For the challenge, the contestants had to do "sexy" poses with everyday objects. Helena won the challenge, and as her prize, she was able to go out to dinner with judges Joey Mead King and Todd Anthony Tyler with two other contestants of her choice (Jee and Rachel). At the photo shoot, the contestants posed with celebrity and host Jason Godfrey.
Sofia received best photo, while Jee and Filantropi were the bottom two. Both were eliminated.

The contestants then met Joey Mead King and Jeannie Mai for a challenge in Parco Next, in which they were split into groups of three and assigned to style themselves in either a "edgy", "quirky" or "sexy" way. The "edgy" group (Jessica, Katie and Trang) were deemed the best, but the overall winner was Jessica. For the photo shoot, the contestants traveled to Nongsa Point Marina and Resort in Batam, and had to portray French Riviera women.
Kate received best photo, while Melissa and Trang were the bottom two with Trang being the fifth contestant eliminated from the competition.

The judges deemed Sofia's photograph to be the best, while Rachel and Kate were the bottom two with Rachel being the sixth contestant eliminated from the competition.

The contestants traveled to Hong Kong, where they attended go-sees for the week's challenge. Jessica won the challenge with three go-sees booked booking, with her prize being a two-night stay at Hotel Mira. For the photo shoot, the contestants portrayed 1920's-inspired modern Chinese "screen goddesses" in the streets of Hong Kong.
Kate received best photo, while Stephanie (for her fourth consecutive time and fifth overall) and Sofia were in the bottom two together for the second time with Sofia being the tenth contestant eliminated from the competition.

The final three contestants were Jessica Amornkuldilok, Kate Ma and Stephanie Retuya. They filmed a commercial for Canon IXUS, shot a cover shoot for Harper's Bazaar Singapore and walked in a fashion show with previously eliminated contestants and Sophie Sumner, the winner of cycle 18 of America's Next Top Model.
America's Next Top Model presenter Tyra Banks sat on the panel for the final deliberation. Jessica was crowned the first winner of Asia's Next Top Model.
