Arkansas Federal Credit Union (AFCU) is a federally chartered credit union headquartered in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and regulated under the authority of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). AFCU is the largest credit union in Arkansas.[1] As of 2010, AFCU had over $820 million in assets, approximately 85,000 members, and 13 branch locations.
Eligibility for membership is extended to employees of Little Rock Air Force Base, Camp Pike, Camp Robinson, Fort Chaffee, the State of Arkansas, federal employees in Arkansas and over 500 other select employee groups. Member deposits are insured up to $500,000 ($250K through NCUA and $250 through Excess Share Insurance).
Arkansas Federal Credit Union employees and members raised $49,877.39 in 2010 through several fundraising events, including the 5th Annual Arkansas Federal Golf Classic, candy and cardstock sales, and two Bunko Bash events. Since 1998, AFCU has contributed over $550,000 to the Arkansas Children's Hospital.
