Juan Carlos Campo Atayde, better known as Arjo Atayde (born November 16 1990),[1] is a Filipino actor. He is currently a talent of ABS-CBN and Star Magic. He is most recently known for portraying Joaquin Tuazon in the ABS-CBN primetime series, Ang Probinsyano.
Personal life
Born on November 16, 1990 to actress Sylvia Sanchez[1][2] and Art Atayde (a businessman). He is the eldest child and has 3 siblings: Maria Sophia (Ria), Maria Angela (Gela), and Xavier (Xavi). He studied in La Salle Greenhills and moved to Reedley International School.
Career
His first notable appearance in Philippine TV was in E-Boy playing the role of "Jepoy" who was paired in a love-team with "Ella" (portrayed by Akiko Solon).
It is notable that in his young career that he has already garnered several starring roles in the longest-running drama anthology series Maalaala Mo Kaya (appearing in the episodes "Bangka", "Puntod", "Tsubibo" and most recently "Dos Por Dos" (2014) where he played a gay parent), something that most Filipino actors treat as a milestone in their acting careers. He has won "Best Male New TV Personality" in the 2012 PMPC Star Awards for Television for his episode "Bangka".[3]
In 2013, he starred as Rafael de Lara in the daytime television series Dugong Buhay.[3] He went on to star in the 2014 Korean adaptation, Pure Love as Raymond de la Cruz/Ramon Esguerra. In 2015, he was given his biggest role to date as Joaquin Tuazon on Ang Probinsyano.[4][5]
