Anna Francisca de Bruyns (1604, in Morialmé – 1675, in Arras) was a Flemish Baroque painter.
Biography
She was the niece of architect Jacques Francquart, who probably taught her to paint.[1] She was painting by the age of seventeen. She was claimed to have been better than all other women painters of her time.[2]
She did some work for the Infanta Isabella Clara Eugenia.[3] At some point between 1622 and 1629, when the couple set up house in Arras, she had married the Rotterdam writer Isaac Bullart. They had 12 children.[3]
