Anindita Nayar is an Indian film actress.^[1][2][3] She made her debut in Amit Sahni Ki List as the lead opposite Vir Das in 2014.^[4]

Early life and career

Anindita was raised in India, USA and Turkey. Her father Pravin Nayar is a chemical engineer from IIT Delhi and holds a top management position in the USA, while her mother Anu is a designer of home furnishings. Her maternal grandfather, Vir Chakra awardee, Major Surender Mohan Sharma was a martyr in the Indo-Pak 1965 war and was in the 8 JAK Rifles and Jammu & Kashmir Rifles.

Anindita studied at British International School Istanbul and Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram. Anindita completed her Bachelors with Honors in History from Lady Shri Ram College for Women.

Anindita collected her first ad commercial for Idea with the "No Idea- Get Idea" opposite Abhishek Bachchan.^[5] She also did commercials for Panasonic opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Garnier Color Naturals opposite Karishma Kapoor. She is in films like 3AM by Vishal Mahadkar and Essel Vision Productions and will also be featured in Hasmukh Pighal Gaya, the lead opposite Vidya Balan, Amitabh Bachchan. She is also acting in P.O.W.- Bandi Yuddh Ke directed by Nikkhil Advani, and is an official adaptation of the Israeli drama Hatufim (Homeland) ^[6][7]

She is a trained Scuba Diver, and uses her scuba diving skills professionally to shoot a number of underwater sequences as well.
