Amy Hoggart is a British stand-up comedian and actress, best known for starring in Almost Royal,[1] a new faux-reality show on BBC America. She portrays a low-ranking heir to the British throne, Poppy Carlton.[2][3] Hoggart attended Cambridge University and was a member of the Footlights, whilst reading English.[1]
Hoggart is the daughter of the late English journalist and broadcaster, Simon Hoggart.[4] She has a brother named Richard,[5] after their grandfather Richard Hoggart, academic of British working class culture. Her uncle Paul Hoggart is a TV critic. Amy was born in Washington, D.C.[6]
