American Society of Tax Problem Solvers
The American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS) is a non-profit organization of tax professionals in the United States. The organization offers training and accreditation to tax and legal professionals. Any tax professional can join ASTPS. Full membership, however, is open only for persons licensed as Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Lawyers, or Enrolled Agents (EAs).[1]
ASTPS directs the Certified Tax Resolution Specialist (CTRS) examination and certification.
Education for tax professionals
ASTPS educates lawyers, CPAs, EAs, and other tax preparers on solving tax problems. Seminars and lessons plans are offered, online and live. Non-members may also use these resources.

- IRS approval
- Participant in the IRS "Practitioner Liaison" program
- Registered with NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
