Algeria participated at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The country's participation at Vancouver marked its third appearance at a Winter Olympics since its debut in 1992. The 2010 delegation consisited of only a single athlete competing in the cross-country skiing.
Background
Algeria has competed in two Winter Olympics between it debut at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. No Algerian athlete has even won a medal at a Winter Games.[1] They would send Mehdi-Selim Khelifi, who also the flag bearer in the Parade of Nations during the opening ceremony.[2]
Cross-country skiing
The sole athlete at the games Mehdi-Selim Khelifi, is a seventeen-year-old skier that competed in the 15 kilometre freestyle.[3]
