Alexi Panos

Alexi Panos is a Greek-American thought leader in the Emergent Wisdom Movement, author, entrepreneur, artist and philanthropist well known for her inspirational online content, books, experiential speeches and international workshops and events.

Early life

Panos[1] was born in Erie, Pennsylvania to parents Greg and Riana and quickly became a part of the arts and entertainment industry at a young age.

Throughout schooling, she had an affinity for both academics and athletics. She participated in soccer, basketball, track, volleyball, ski club and dance. In school, she was part of TAG (Talented and Gifted program), SWEP (School Wide Enrichment Program) and was a straight A, all honors, student. At 15, Panos moved to Ventnor, NJ with her mother to pursue a singing career when producer Rodney Jerkins, of Darkchild Records, discovered her during an audition Panos is said to have entered on a dare. While in Ventnor, she enrolled at Atlantic City High School, where she graduated a year early. Her time in NJ was spent mostly in studios or modeling out of the Philadelphia and New York markets.

Career

Throughout her 20s, Panos had a modeling career with brands such as Kenneth Cole, American Eagle, Levi's, Reebok, Health Magazine, Nautica Swim, Miracle Suit, Runner's World Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Oral B, Tide, Modell's Sporting Goods, Ecko, JCPennies, and Grey Goose.

She has been a part of numerous television productions as a presenter, but is best known for her work as host of HGTV's “Run My Makeover”, an interactive home design show, and as co-host in SNY's Beer Money!, a sports trivia show, alongside Chris Carlin.

She produced the web travel series Ultimate Quest, a series of short online video travel guides, and is currently producing several other series for both web and TV.

In 2014, she appeared as the host of Operation Build, a home remodeling show airing on the History Channel.

In 2012, Alexi moved from NYC to LA to follow her true calling of supporting and inspiring others into their greatness. Since then, she has made a name for herself in what she calls the Emergent Wisdom Movement, starting first with personal coaching and her podcast Transformation Nation, which eventually turned into a video series of short, inspirational videos that distilled big ideas from ancient wisdom into concept for the modern, everyday human. Alexi took the concepts she was studying and learning from some of the best trainers and teachers worldwide and brought them direct to her audience; and her videos have been viewed millions of times from audiences around the world.

Gathering all of the most practical and expansive teachings she had learned, she put her own unique spin on it and developed a new method of Emergent Wisdom technology called The Bridge Method with her husband Preston Smiles. They now speak and lead workshops all around the globe with The Bridge Experience, The Naked Truth, Brand U and Radical Relationships.

Alexi's first solo book called 50 WAYS TO YAY! published by North Star Way (a division of Simon & Schuster) is out June 7, 2016. Her next book, NOW OR NEVER, co-written with her husband Preston Smiles, will be out in January 2017.[2]

She was named as one of ORIGIN Magazine’s TOP 100 CREATIVES CHANGING THE WORLD, dubbed one of 11 NOTEWORTHY MILLENNIAL'S by Huffington Post, winner of Elixir Magazine's Millennial Mentor Award, one of 15 WOMEN THAT WOW by Creativ Magazine, and one of the stars of the breakout documentary THE ABUNDANCE FACTOR, Alexi is truly shaking things up with her passionate and energetic delivery, making a unique mark on the world.

Philanthropy

Panos co founded the non-profit E.P.I.C. (Everyday People Initiating Change),[3] with friend Tennille Amor, in 2005 after her music tour with Ja Rule landed her in Africa. It was there she noticed a severe gap in the way people lived and decided to do something about it. E.P.I.C.'s first project was the Ripple Project, which provides clean, sustainable bore-hole water wells in rural areas throughout Tanzania. The Ripple Project has drilled 11 wells to date, and E.P.I.C. prides itself on its grassroots, slow and steady approach to sustainable development.[6] Both Panos and her partner Tennille stay in Africa each year for about a month to follow up in the villages they drill in with a full hygiene and sanitation program, and stay locally with the people to ensure community cooperation with each project.[7]

In the summer of 2012, E.P.I.C. rolled out it's Fellowship Program to empower a generation of leaders who wanted to do more than just write a check to charity. E.P.I.C.'s Fellowship Program is a leadership training and on the ground experience in global aid and development bringing together committed and passionate people to communities in need, to take part in various projects such as; the implementation of clean water wells, hygiene and sanitation education, performing arts and creativity, business and leadership training, nutrition education, medical aid, and the construction of schools, libraries, and other educational institutions. The Fellowship Program was created by the founders of E.P.I.C. (Everyday People Initiating Change), Alexi Panos and Tennille Amor, to educate and inspire global advocates to be the change they wish to see in the world.

E.P.I.C. donates 100% of all donations to their projects.[9]
