Alexandra Longová (born 7 February 1994 in Bratislava) is a female Slovak recurve archer. She won the bronze medal at the 2014 European Youth Championships.[4]

Career

2008-2014

She competed in the 2008 World Youth Championships in Antalya, where she lost in the third round to Lidiia Sichenikova.[1] At the 2012 European Youth Championships she ended in the 1/16 final,[5] but two years later she placed third, defeating Tuiana Dashidorzhieva in the bronze medal match.[4] In the 2014 season she also placed fifth at the 2014 European senior championships [6] and won one competition of the European Youth Cup, defeating Laura Ruggieri in the final match.[7]

2015-2016

Longova represented her country at the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she was defeated in the second round by Anastasia Pavlova. She competed in the individual recurve event and the team recurve event at the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.[8] She placed ninth at the 2016 European Championships [9] and second in the subsequent qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics. In Rio de Janeiro she defeated Laxmirani Majhi in the round of 64, but lost to Qi Yuhong in the next round. After the Olympic Games she was 24th in the European ranking.[10]

Personal life

Longová studied biology at the Comenius University in Bratislava.[3] Her father is a karate coach and she tried this sport when she was young.[11] She lives in Viničné.[1]
