Al-Thawrah District (Arabic: منطقة الثورة, translit. manṭiqat Aṯ Ṯawra) is a district of the ar-Raqqah Governorate in northern Syria. Administrative centre is the city of al-Thawrah. At the 2004 census, the district had a population of 159,840.[1]
Sub-districts
The district of al-Thawrah is divided into three sub-districts or nawāḥī (population as of 2004[1]):
- Al-Thawrah Nahiyah (ناحية الثورة): population 69,425.[2]
- Al-Mansurah Nahiyah (ناحية المنصورة): population 58,727[3]
- Al-Jarniyah Nahiyah (ناحية الجرنية): population 31,688.[4]
