Ajithkumar (Malayalam:അജിത്കുമാർ നായർ) (Hindi:अजीतकुमार नायर) (born 8 January 1980)is an eminent Indian Criminologist [1]and an IB official who formerly worked as an Indian Diplomat at India House, London (The High Commission of India, London) and a Human Rights advocate and a writer, philosopher.[2]

Career

Mr. Nair is an advisory expert and part of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate a custodial murder at Parassala police station.[3] The SIT constituted by Justice K Narayana Kurup, Chairman State Police Complaints Authority (SPCA), Kerala & Former Chief Justice of Madras High Court.[4] SPCA is an agency who initiate action against the misconduct of senior police officers in Kerala from the rank of Superintendent of police (India) to Director General of Police.[5] He has been worked for India's external intelligence as an Intelligence Officer under cower/ career diplomat in various capacities as Visa Officer, Consular Officer, Chief Protocol Officer and Programme Director at the Indian High Commission, London. He also had a great roll as Programme Director at Nehru Centre London for promoting and formulating India’s external cultural relations, to foster mutual understanding between India and UK to promote cultural exchanges with peoples. He was joined Indian Navy earlier as an Officer Cadet/Midshipman.

Early Life

Mr. Ajithkumar Nair was born in a Central Travancore village called Chalamkode to M.K. Janardanan Nair and T. Lakshmikutty Amma belongs from Mattathil Tharavadu a well known ruling family at thodupuzha under Travancore Royal family. He is the great-grandson of Sarwadhikari Elasamprathi Narayana Menon of Travancore, a well known administrator of the Central Travancore region as Elasamprathi (representative of His Highness Maharaja) appointed by Maharaja of Travancore. Mr. Nair studied at Government UP School Thondikkuzha and he attended high school at St.George’s Higher Secondary School Muthalakodam, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from St. Thomas College Palai of Kottayam District in Kerala. He went on to win a scholarship to study at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and earned a Master's degrees in Polymer Chemistry at the age of 22 from the School of Chemical Education Kottayam. After his Post Graduation he was selected for a prestigious training for the post of Commissioned Officer in the Indian Navy by Union public Service Commission of India through Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE). The same time Mr. Nair was selected for an overseas Post Graduate Programme in Management in the United Kingdom and left his Midshipman training from INS Mondovi Naval Officers Training Academy, Goa. Later Mr. Nair obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the Middlesex College, London. Later he obtained a Masters Degree in Human Rights and Development Management from the Open University UK. Soon after the masters he obtained an other Criminology and Criminal Justice degree and qualified as a Criminologist from the prestigious University of London.

Career in Defence

Mr. Nair is the first and only person in the history of Kerala and Lakshadweep NCC directorate received a best Navel Cadet Trophy from the Prime Minister of India Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He participated Indian Republic day parade as a Naval Cadet held at New Delhi on 26 January 2001.

Mr. Nair is also a microlight pilot who achieved its training from national adventure foundation, India. He had his SCUBA diving course from Naval Diving School at INS Venduruthi Sothern Naval Command, Cochin.[7]

He headed a team of Naval Cadets onboard with INS Ranvijay (Distroyar Ship of India) those who participate Operation Parakram,[8] an extraordinary situation at Arabian Sea after the attack of Indian Parliament.
