Aiden Jude (born ca. 2004[1]) is an American electronic dance music DJ, producer, songwriter and record label owner.[2][3][4] He lives in New York City, New York.[5] His first release, "Tonight" featuring Nafsica, debuted in 2014.[6][7][8] "Tonight" debuted No. 49 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart and No. 30 on the Beatport Electric Chart.[9][10][11] "Tonight" and all of his other singles have been published by his own record label, Crowd Records, which he founded in the same year.[4]
He is the son of Eddie Shapiro, founder of the real estate firm Nest Seekers International, who funded heavy promotion of Jude's releases on Beatport.[12] Reacting to widespread criticism, Aiden Jude has denied claims that his debut single had been "completely ghost-produced".[1]
Musical career
In 2014, on April 16, he deejayed at The Attic in Hollywood, California. Jude had follow-up performances at The Supperclub, Lure, Lavo and Marquee in New York, and Bliss and Mr. East in New Jersey.[11]
In August 2014, he released an instrumental song, "Arrival."[13] Jude had his first vocal appearance on "Everybody In Da House."[11] In October 2014, Jude released "Words," featuring Lilly Anne Merat's vocals.[14] Erick Morillo, Novaspace, and Taurus & Vaggeli remixed "Words".[15] Later that year, he released "Underworld."[16]
Jude released a remix of Ming and Shwann’s “Breathe” in March 2015.[17] In the same month, he performed at Beatgasm during Miami Music Week 2015.[18] In April of the same year, Jude released “All We Are” featuring Annie Baltic.[19][20] In September 2015, he released "Stadium of Light" featuring Vassy.[21] In November 2015, Jude released "Run This Town" featuring Merat.[22]
Style and influences
Aiden Jude's performances include electro house, progressive house, deep house, dubstep and trap music.[5] He credits his uncle, DJ Coleman as his musical influence.[23][24] DJ Coleman has been a DJ for the fashion world in New York City since the early 1990s.[24][25]
